Seniors: Learn how to avoid scams at Castlegar event

Castlegar seniors are being bombarded with scams. Unfortunately, several of these criminals have been successful.

To provide information, tools and support, IRIS will be hosting a special event on March 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Kinnaird Park Church (IRIS’s usual venue).

The event will feature presentations from the RCMP and CIBC. Learn about your risks, how to protect yourself, scam warning signs and what to do if you think you. have been scammed. Snacks and coffee will be provided.

The event is open to local seniors age 60+. Registration is required — call 250-608-0706 or email castlegarcrn@hotmail.com.
