It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Polly Markin of Glade, B.C. on March 5, 2024. Mom was born in Blewett on August 15, 1937. She was third born in a family of seven siblings.
Mom is survived by her sister Nayda, daughters Mareena (Wayne Makaroff), Verna (Orval Coe), son James and daughter Corry (Norm Fraser), eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Predeceased by husband James, parents William and Polly Laren and five of her siblings.
Polly grew up in a difficult time which made her a very resilient homemaker. She was an avid gardener, baker, crocheter, and she loved her life on the farm.
Mom welcomed everyone with open arms and loved to have family and friends stop by. No one left her home without a treat of borscht, buns, or fresh vegetables.
She was a great Mom, Baba, and Babushka. We will miss her dearly and we will always have our memories to keep her spirit alive.
Thank you to Dr. MacIntyre for all her support this past year. The family will be having a private service as requested by Mom.
